Pick Up and Drop Off

Mulberry Elementary School uses a car line procedure each day for picking up and dropping off your student(s). Parking in the front driveway of the school is only available between 8:30 and 2:30. Thank you!

The building is locked during the day so you need to enter through the front door and buzz the office. Always check in at the office as soon as you enter the building.

Morning Drop Off

  • Doors open at 7:15. Students are tardy at 8:10.Students who need to eat breakfast may do so right away. On late start days, there will be no breakfast program.
  • Students are to be dropped off at the end of the sidewalk in the First Baptist Church parking lot. Please drop students off at this location only and move forward in the car line as soon as your student(s) are out of the car. School personnel are at the school doors to welcome students.
  • We ask that you not drop students off at the front of the building unless you have contacted the office and received permission. For safety reasons, the front driveway is reserved for busing, daycare vans, bike riders and walkers. Handicap parking is available in the parking lot.

Afternoon Pick Up

  • The pick-up line is a one-way line around First Baptist Church. Please circle around the church by driving to the right, a zipper method will be used mid-point, and continuing into one line.
  • You need to have a name placard on your dash with the student(s) name who you are picking up. One staff member will see the name, they will communicate that to another staff member stationed by the multi-colored safety cones, and those children will be called to stand by a particular colored cone and wait for their car to get to that spot. Students will be sitting inside the building waiting to be called.
  • Students will need to enter the passenger side of the vehicle so they are not required to walk around cars and out into the parking lot.
  • Most drivers will not need to get out of their cars which will help speed up the process and, thus, keep from blocking the line.
  • The dismissal bell rings at 2:56. Students who walk home and need to cross Mulberry Avenue are escorted across the street by an adult. Bused students wait in the gym in areas designated for the various buses. They are dismissed when all the buses arrive.
